This scene is an early cut from a documentary that we are producing. Sometimes in the midst of our work, we are lucky to find ourselves smack dab in the middle of a loving family that knows no bounds when it comes to sharing their affection for each other.
The family arrives at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals car show in Pennsylvania, the largest Mopar event in the world, where drag racing legend Herb “Mr. 4 Speed” McCandless is a VIP headliner. His son, Mike McCandless and his McCandless Antique Autos, will also be showcasing a number of superb vehicles. One of those vehicles enjoys a uniquely special place in the history of drag racing, as well as in Herb’s heart. In this scene, we share a “fly on the wall” perspective of what transpires when Mike surprises his Dad with an exact replica of Herb’s famous race car, which was lost in the 1970’s in a devastating accident, seemingly forever cemented in the past.
Today, the car, its sentimental history, all that it stands for, and what it -- and family -- truly means to Herb lives again.
Everyone has a Levi's story. So why not give people the chance to share their own unique denim story with the world? That's exactly what the Live in Levi's Project is all about.
